The City of Alma Parks and Recreation Department offers a wide variety of facilities and activities for your enjoyment.
These facilities include:
*Buena Vista Park — located 500 feet above the City, Buena Vista Park offers breathtaking views up and down the Mighty Mississippi River. Buena Vista Park offers a picnic shelter, picnic tables, sitting areas and vault bathrooms. To reserve the shelter and/or park, calendars are located next to the shelter for signup. Please remember to use an ink pen stating your name and times you will need the facilities. Remember, that although you reserve the shelter and use of the park, it is not closed to the public.
*Rieck’s Lake Park and Campground — located north of the City on Hwy 35, Rieck’s Lake Park and Campground offers a playground and picnic area to the north with full restroom facilities (including showers), two shelters and an enclosed shelter, and 20 campsites with 20 & 30amp 120v electricity (no water). Calendars are located next to the shelters for reservation of the shelters. For reservation of the enclosed shelter facility, contact city hall during regular hours to obtain a key. Camping cost is $20/night and registration is required at the self-service booth onsite. The campground operates on a first come, first served basis.

*Alma Beach and Recreational area. The Alma Beach and Recreational area provides a beach bathhouse with restroom facilities and showers (including handicap units), a tennis court, basketball court, volleyball courts, playground area for children and a softball/baseball field. The City of Alma Boat Launch and the Alma Marina are also located at this site. The area provides a gazebo with beautiful views of the river and can be reserved. A calendar at the gazebo is available for signup.
